SULIQUE V WAQA

Born and raised in the stunning and culturally rich archipelago of Fiji, Sulique dedicated more than 18 remarkable years of her life to tirelessly organizing and advocating for essential LGBTQ+ rights throughout the diverse region. Her inspiring journey, fueled by a commitment to equality and inclusion, led her to move to the vibrant and eclectic city of San Francisco in 2020, where she continued her mission with renewed vigor. During her extensive and impactful work for the Pacific, Sulique explored over 25 fascinating countries and unearthed countless stories of resilience and joy within the LGBTQ+ community, enriching her understanding and shaping her vision for travel that embraces inclusion, diversity and authenticity.

Sulique is the Founder & Business Owner of the South Pacific LGBTQ+ Travel LLC. In 2025, Sulique was selected as one of the recipients of the IGLTA Foundation Global Convention Fellowship, recognizing her outstanding contribution and potential in the field of LGBTQ+ travel and tourism. She also sits as a member of the foundation’s Gender Diverse Travel Advisory Group. 

Karel “Terii” Luciani

Based in Tahiti, French Polynesia, Karel “Terii” Luciani is a celebrated Mā’ohi Nui leader, cultural ambassador, and our French Polynesia Travel & Tour Connoisseur focusing on destinations in Tahiti, Mo’orea & Bora Bora. With over 25 years of experience across Oceania in regional cooperation, community development, and public policy, Terii now brings his passion for authentic hospitality and equality to the forefront of Pacific travel.

As a Member of the Economic, Social, Environmental and Cultural Council (CESEC) of French Polynesia, he advocates for LGBTQIA+ rights and social inclusion at the highest level. He is also President of Cousins Cousines de Tahiti (a leading LGBTQIA+ organization) and Founder & President of the Alliance LGBTI Franco-Océanienne (ALFO), a regional network strengthening French-speaking Pacific LGBTQIA+ groups.

In 2024, Terii received the French Médaille d’Honneur de l’Engagement Ultramarin for his lifelong commitment to inclusion and equality in French overseas territories. He has also served as a jury member for the International Paris LGBTQIA+ Rights Prize and has represented French Polynesia at global forums.

For LGBTQ+ travellers and allies, Terii offers something rare: deep cultural roots, warm Polynesian hospitality, and decades of experience welcoming international visitors, diplomats, and community leaders. His regional networks and knowledge of customary protocols, local traditions, and safe spaces allow him to create meaningful, immersive experiences—from lagoon sailing and island tours to cultural exchanges with Tahitian and Pacific LGBTQ+ communities.

A competitive sailor who represented French Polynesia at the 2002 Sydney Gay Games (winning bronze and silver medals), Terii connects with visitors through a shared love of the ocean, respect for nature, and pride in diversity.

Today, he is expanding into LGBTQ+ and inclusive tourism, helping position French Polynesia and the wider South Pacific as welcoming, safe, culturally vibrant, and world-class destinations for all. Whether advising travel professionals, hosting curated group journeys, or developing inclusive destination strategies, Terii ensures every guest feels seen, celebrated, and deeply connected to the spirit of the Pacific.
